Adult ADHD Program

Evidence-based adult ADHD evaluation and management

A structured DSM-5 evaluation using validated instruments, followed by careful stimulant or non-stimulant medication management.

Overview

Adult ADHD deserves a real evaluation, not a five-minute screen. Our program starts with a structured DSM-5 assessment using validated instruments, then moves to a medication plan built around your history, your health, and your goals. We treat this as ongoing care, with the monitoring that controlled-substance management requires.

Who it is for

  • Adults who suspect they may have ADHD and want a thorough evaluation
  • Patients previously diagnosed who need ongoing, structured management
  • People who want a clinician who takes stimulant safety seriously

Controlled-substance policy

Stimulants are controlled substances, and we manage them accordingly. We review the state Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) at every visit, use controlled-substance agreements, and perform baseline and random urine drug screening (UDS). These steps protect your safety and keep your care compliant.

What we offer

What this visit includes

Structured DSM-5 evaluation

Assessment supported by the ASRS-v1.1, BAARS-IV, and Conners rating scales.

Medication management

Stimulant and non-stimulant options, matched to your situation and adjusted over time.

Cardiovascular screening

Reviewed before any stimulant is started, because safety comes first.

Ongoing follow-up

Regular visits to track response, tolerability, and function.

What to expect

Your visit, step by step

Your first visit is an evaluation, history, validated rating scales, and a review of any prior records. If medication is appropriate, we discuss options, screen for cardiovascular risk before starting a stimulant, and set a follow-up schedule. Diagnosis codes in this program fall under ICD-10 F90.x.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you do a full evaluation or just prescribe?

We start with a structured DSM-5 evaluation using validated instruments. Medication, when appropriate, follows the assessment, it does not replace it.

Will I need ongoing visits?

Yes. Stimulant and non-stimulant management is ongoing care with regular follow-up, PDMP review at every visit, and periodic drug screening.

Do you screen my heart before starting a stimulant?

Yes. Cardiovascular screening is completed before any stimulant is initiated.

Can you take over management from another provider?

Often, yes. Bring your records and current prescriptions. We will review your history and continue care under our monitoring program.

What if a stimulant is not right for me?

Non-stimulant medications are part of the program, and we will match the approach to your health, history, and preferences.
